Bethesda's Landmark Theatre shows first-run independent films, foreign films, restored classics and other non-traditional studio fare.  The theatre has 8 screens.  It opened May 2002, and is part of the nation's largest "art-house" movie theatre chain.

Each auditorium in the theatre features stadium seating and wall-to-wall screens, augmented with sound systems incorporating the latest digital sound technology. Other amenities include a theatre espresso bar offering locally produced baked goods as well as a traditional concession stand.
